You know what they say:
When life gives you leftover watermelon and Pinot Noir…you turn it into Sangria!
This is totally my version using whatever I could find in my fridge. But I think it turned out damn well.
1 bottle Pinot Noir or your favorite red wine
1 cup club soda
1 cup grapefruit juice
1/2 cup sliced strawberries
1 lime, sliced
1/4 cup raspberries, muddled
1 cup diced watermelon
1 tbsp agave nectar
2 sprigs of mint
Some places really can be perfect. Be it because of their natural beauty or the amount of thought put into everything their four walls contain. The latter can be said of our favorite wine bar The Blind Monk . It’s 3 blocks away from home, has a fantastic wine list, is beyond cozy and intimate, and it has been the backdrop for some of my favorite memories…We had our first (and second) date there, celebrated our engagement, and birthdays there this year and come tomorrow we will be there on “date night”. I can’t think of a better way to start the weekend than to sit across from Michael with a delicious glass of red and share some laughs.
I wish you all a beautiful weekend ahead!
Today could easily be described as the perfect day. Our best friends (and possibly the cutest couple I know) Steve and Jess; came over for a little poolside picnic and some fun in the sun. It turned out to be perfect cure for the blues that seemed to have gotten ahold of me just last week. We laughed, talked, ate, took silly photos, and when the sun was all gone; we headed indoors for a movie and burgers. It was in a nutshell the best way we could have spent a Sunday. I wish you all a good night and a fantastic week ahead!
P.S. can you believe it’s in the mid 70s in Florida; what ever happened to winter?

The handsome Mr. Dasch
Now I know it’s fall and there are tons of delicious veggies in season that truly reflect the taste of the Holidays. But I couldn’t help myself when my fiancé suggested Tex Mex for dinner (tacos to be exact). It’s so flavorful, and I love the idea of making a bunch of different toppings, so that each taco can be customized 🙂 My favorite part is the Pico de Gallo, so bright and fresh! I left the Jalapeños out, but if in the mood for a little heat; I definitely suggest them.
